Whether you need to haul a camper or you need the space to haul some lumber to a job site, there is nothing better than a truck to get the job done right, and the Titan series of trucks is built for those who love to haul. However; that’s definitely not the only thing that the Titan and Titan XD are capable of though. The Titans are not all brawn and no style though. With sleek exterior styling with a roomy, smart interior layout, the multiple intuitive technologies that come standard, you, your co-workers, and your family will be riding in comfort and style. The Titan class of trucks has so much to offer, and to explore it all let’s take a deep dive into what this series is all about.
The Titan has been awarded the coveted 2017 Truck Trend Pickup Truck of the Year, and for good reason. This award is given once a year by the editors of Truck Trend as they test each of the newly revised versions trucks across manufacturers from across the country. This year, there were eight different models that got tested from Nissan to Ford to GMC and more. To determine this award, there are no secret ballots, no conference table decisions, and no popularity contests. It’s not a popularity contest. This is a test based on the numbers and the feel of each of the vehicles. When they put these vehicles to the test, they did two tedious rounds of testing, and they put in over 600 hours behind the wheel of these trucks to determine which truck reigned supreme in 2017. Both of these tests were not done in a controlled lab either. They were done in the real world so that the trucks could be in the natural environment and they could assess the vehicles across a variety of terrains. The first test that was performed was the stress test. This was a test of endurance through driving across 7,500+ miles with each of the trucks at 100% of their max payload capacity and 75% of their max towing capacity. This was done using 100LB rubber mats in the bed of the ruck and on a 20ft deck trailer. The trailer remained steady and smooth throughout the ride, and the Endurance® V8 engine handled the ride without a single hitch. Next was the off-road test. Testing their off-road capabilities involved taking the trucks on a tour through rough roads, over sandy washes, and through tight trails to evaluate the tires, gearing, and traction aids. The Titan performed wonderfully, and it was able to make maneuvers that other trucks were not able to make and trekked through this terrain with ease. So when the dust settled, the Titan was the truck that stood above the rest, and it earned itself the 2017 Truck Trend Pick Up Truck of the Year.
Welcome to the Titan series of trucks where style and functionality collide. Functionally, there are many amenities that make the time fly on those longer trips and enhance the driving experience overall. Even before San Marcos drivers get in the vehicle though, they have the option to unlock and start up the truck remotely with the available Remote Engine Start System, and when the car starts, the Intelligent Climate Control system cools off or heats up your vehicle to make it comfortable for you when you get in. Pulling from its luxury side, the Titan’s style shines through on its stunning interior that is lined with luxury soft-touch materials. The 5” touch-screen color display is the centerpieces of this beautiful interior, and it provides an intuitive look into the many technologies included inside the Titan. If you need some additional power for all of your extra devices, tools, and trinkets, there are two included dash-mounter 12-volt DC power outlets with the option to add one 120-volt AC and a 12-Volt DC power outlet in the center console. These are only a few of the fabulous technologies and features that have been implemented inside on the Titan and Titan XD. When you get the chance, take a step inside of one, but be prepared to be blown away.
The Nissan Titan and Titan XD have more features than just a long truck bed and a terrific towing capacity to help you out on the road or on the job site. They come standard an active grille shutter, a removable front aero spoiler, an overhead LED cargo bed lights, and a dampened assist tailgate with many other available features like multiple skid plates, Power heated black outside mirrors with turn signal indicators, the Utili-track® Channel System with four tie-down cleats, LED signature headlights with Follow Me Home Function, and much more. Some of these exterior features can even enhance three aspects of your Titan at once: the look, the feel, and the functionality. For instance, the active grill shutter’s purpose is to reduce the amount of air in the engine, to adjust the engine temperature automatically, and to reduce drag on your vehicle (which can help fuel efficiency). Another one of the functional features of the Titan series that keeps makes it stand out from the crowd is the Titan’s distinctive in-bed cargo boxes. Fill them with ice to keep your drinks chilled at your next party; fill them with tools to take to a job site; fill them with basketballs to play with your kids at the local park. The possibilities go as far as your imagination, so feel come up with interesting uses for your cargo boxes! If any of these amazing features have peeked your interest, come by and take a look at one in San Marcos, TX.
Have you ever wanted to bring a Titan to life? Just grab some keys and rev the engine of a Nissan Titan, and you can feel the power at your fingertips. The Titan’s 390-hp Endurance® V8 engine sits in the belly of this beast, but the Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission makes it easy for anyone to tame it. If you want to take a venture on the wild side, you can opt-in for the Endurance® 5.0-L Cummins® V8 Turbo Diesel engine to ramp up your muscle. These engines help to combine the raw power that you need with the brains to provide excellent gas mileage for anyone who gets behind the wheel. Stunning technologies are not only found inside the cabin of the Titan, but they can also be found under the hood. With a 4-valve-per-cylinder design, the Bosch® ceramic glow plugs, the Nissan Direct Injection System, and the Variable Valve Event and Lift, San Marcos drivers get the power they want with the efficiency they need to keep going on those long road trips. Get behind the wheel of a Titan today to see what everyone is talking about.
There is no mistaking that trucks tend to need more power underneath the hood than many other vehicles out on the road. Why is this necessary for this type of vehicle? Trucks are used a lot of times for their cargo space in their beds and to haul trailers with any number of things on them. The Titan class of trucks was built to make these tasks as easy and safe as they possibly could be. Every truck has its limit though, and the weight of the major variables in determining this limit on a vehicle. The Titan comes in at a hefty 5,180 lbs and joins the half-ton truck family. The benefit of having a heavier vehicle is that it helps to keep the truck on the ground when you are driving with heavy loads in your bed or towing large loads behind you. The Titan XD brings this benefit even further by being a three-quarter-ton truck based on its gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of over 8,500 pounds. The maximum payload capacity gets a bump because of this increase in weight from 1,950-lb on the Titan to 2,910-lb on the Titan XD and the maximum towing capacity also gets a bump from 9,740-lb on the Titan to 12,640-lb on the Titan XD. So whether you are interested in the Titan or the Titan XD, the hauling capacity is enormous. When it comes time to choose between the two, the capacity that you will be hauling is definitely something to keep in mind. This is something that will depend on your use case. Either way, the Titan has you covered when your hauling materials onto a jobs site, hauling a camper for a weekend getaway, and everything in between. So if you are ever in the San Marcos area, feel free to come by and test one out at Nissan of San Marcos.
